The block prints are my "vacation" from my regular watercolor work. These days, creating them is my chance to be a fine artist and pretend that some day I will show them off in galleries while collectors swarm around, drink fancy wine, and offer me piles of money to hang them over their sofas. Click through to read about how I create the prints and see some samples.

Over the last few years as we have taken vacations and trips, I have taken along a sketchbook to fill with what I see. The first of these vacation sketches, done at the Grand Canyon, was truly a humbling experience. The space was so vast and the light moved so quickly it was almost impossible to capture the magnitude of the canyon. Our most recent trip, a 10 day cruise of the Mediterranean fulfilled a life-long dream of mine of going to Italy to paint. Our stops in Italy, France, and Croatia were stunning and just as picturesque as I'd imagined that would be. I hope to add more vacation sketches as time and money permit us to do the globe-trotting that we so enjoy!
